Food Pantry Updates--New Equipment, New Hours, and a New program!
New Equipment: MACAA is excited to announce that we have been awarded a 2026 Partner Impact and Innovation Grant from Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. It will be used to buy a 2-Door cooler, a 2-Door Freezer, and a 1-Door Freezer for the food pantry!
New Hours: MACAA is discontinuing our Saturday (every third Saturday of the month) hours, but will continue our daytime and evening hours. Please check our Pantry page for hours.
New Program: MACAA is pleased to announce that we have been approved as a site for The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), a federal program that helps supplement the diets of low-income people by providing emergency food assistance. Being a TEFAP site gives us a reliable, federally funded source of nutritious food and operational support, enabling us to serve more people in need while strengthening MACAA’s capacity to combat hunger. The program also allows qualified individuals and families from any county in Virginia to pick up food from the Fluvanna Food Bank.
