A Bilingual Montessori Program in the Southwood Community.

The Early Learning Center at Hickory Hope is opening in November 2025.

We envision a community where every child has access to high-quality early learning, every family is supported, and the culture and strengths of Southwood are celebrated as the foundation for lifelong success.

  • Year-round care; Monday through Friday, 7am-5pm

  • Serving 20 children, ages 3-5 years old

  • Small group size and low staff-child ratios

  • Priority enrollment for Southwood families

  • Affordable tuition with sliding scale + VA Child Care Subsidy Vendor

  • Nutritious meals and outdoor greenspace

  • Daily health checks and strict cleaning routines

  • Secure facility with locked doors and authorized pick-up only

The Early Learning Center is located at the north west corner of Hickory Street and Horizon Road in the new apartment complex.

Bilingual Learning

In addition to the Montessori curriculum, the program uses a dual English and Spanish language immersion model.

  • English and Spanish woven into daily routines

  • Guided by the Bilingual Early Learning Collaborative

  • Builds dual-language skills, cultural pride, and home–school partnerships
