MACAA Receives Miles for Good Grant from Pilot Company
Monticello Area Community Action Agency (MACAA) is pleased to share that we have been awarded a Miles for Good grant from Pilot Company, providing $250 in fuel gift cards to support our programs across Central Virginia.
As a community action agency, MACAA works to reduce the causes and conditions of poverty by helping individuals and families access the resources and opportunities needed to achieve long-term stability and self-sufficiency. Transportation can be a significant barrier for many of the individuals and families we serve. This support from Pilot Company will help ensure that critical services remain accessible.
The gift cards will support several MACAA programs. At the Fluvanna Food Pantry, fuel assistance will help staff and volunteers pick up donated food from community partners, ensuring more food reaches families facing food insecurity. At Hope House, residents working toward stability will be able to commute to employment and maintain the jobs that help them transition into permanent housing. Project Discovery students will also benefit, with transportation support allowing first-generation students to visit college campuses and trade schools as they explore post-secondary opportunities.
By helping remove transportation barriers, this grant strengthens MACAA’s ability to connect individuals and families with the resources they need. We are grateful to Pilot Company’s Miles for Good program for investing in our community. Community support makes this work possible.
